Just weeks after confirming its partnership with China’s Chery to introduce the Jetour T2 in India, JSW Motors has officially teased its first SUV for the Indian market. The teaser surfaced as part of a dealer recruitment campaign, signaling that the company is accelerating its India entry strategy.
The upcoming SUV — based on the global Jetour T2 — will be assembled at JSW’s new plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra. Launch is targeted around Diwali 2026.

What the Teaser Reveals
The teaser image highlights the SUV’s front fascia, which closely resembles the international Jetour T2.
Key visible elements include:
Horizontal LED DRLs housed within circular headlamp units
Pixel-style illuminated fog lamps
An upright bonnet design
Prominent bumper and muscular wheel arches
While most styling cues remain identical to the global model, the India-spec version appears to feature slightly smaller ORVMs. The Jetour branding will also be replaced with JSW badging.

Powertrain Details: PHEV Likely for India
Globally, the Jetour T2 is available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric (EV) versions. However, India is expected to receive only the hybrid variant.
The international-spec PHEV setup includes:
1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine
154hp and 220Nm output
26.7kWh battery pack
Single-motor FWD or dual-motor AWD configurations
NEDC-certified electric-only range of 139km
If launched with similar specifications, it would position JSW strongly in the growing hybrid SUV segment.

Interior & Features
The global Jetour T2 comes loaded with modern tech and comfort features, many of which are expected to carry over to the India-spec model.
Highlights include:
15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
Chunky multifunction steering wheel
Panoramic sunroof
Wireless charging
12-speaker Sony sound system
Powered and ventilated front seats
Automatic climate control
On the safety front, it offers:
360-degree camera
Level 2 ADAS
Hill-start assist
Hill-descent control
These features would place it firmly in the premium mid-size SUV category.
Pricing & Competition
JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal has indicated that the brand aims to operate within the Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh price bracket. This suggests the SUV could rival models like the Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Safari in India.
Launch Timeline & Possible Delay
The official launch is planned for Diwali 2026. However, delays in regulatory approvals for importing Chinese components could push timelines further.
With local assembly planned and dealer recruitment already underway, JSW Motors’ India entry appears to be gathering momentum — and this Jetour T2-based SUV could mark the beginning of a serious new challenger in the premium SUV space.
