MG Motor India has confirmed that its upcoming flagship full-size SUV, the MG Majestor, will be launched in India on February 12, 2026. The Majestor was first showcased at Auto Expo 2025 and has since been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times.
Positioned above the MG Gloster, the Majestor is expected to strengthen MG’s presence in the premium SUV segment.
MG Majestor Exterior Design
The MG Majestor draws heavy design inspiration from the Maxus D90, sold in international markets such as China and Saudi Arabia. It features a bold and aggressive front fascia with:
A massive gloss-black grille
Vertically stacked LED headlamps
Sleek eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs
Rugged black cladding with silver skid elements
The SUV’s side profile is accentuated by muscular wheel arches, dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, and black door handles. At the rear, it sports connected LED tail-lamps, a black bumper with a faux silver skid plate, and twin exhaust outlets.
MG Majestor Interior & Features
Although the interior was not revealed at Auto Expo 2025, spy shots indicate a cabin similar to the Maxus D90. The India-spec MG Majestor is expected to feature:
A 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system
A 12.3-inch digital driver’s display
A 3-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted drive selector

As it will be positioned above the Gloster, the Majestor is likely to offer additional premium features. For reference, the Gloster already includes a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker sound system, powered tailgate, heated and powered front seats, and a massage function for the driver’s seat.
MG Majestor Powertrain
The MG Majestor is expected to share its powertrain with the Gloster, featuring a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 216hp and 479Nm of torque. The engine is likely to be paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive (4WD) system.

Interestingly, the China-spec Maxus D90 uses the same engine but with a higher torque output of 500Nm, raising expectations for the Indian version.
Expected Price & Rivals
The MG Majestor is expected to be priced above the Gloster, which currently retails between ₹38.33 lakh and ₹42.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the:
Toyota Fortuner
Jeep Meridian
Skoda Kodiaq
Verdict
With bold styling, premium features, and a powerful diesel drivetrain, the MG Majestor is poised to become MG’s flagship SUV in India. Its positioning above the Gloster and competition against segment leaders make it one of the most anticipated SUV launches of 2026.
